Robecca Cunningham - Senior Solicitor
Areas of Expertise
Robecca has a background in both civil engineering and law. Having started her career as a design engineer working on large dam and weir structures Robecca joined State Water, now WaterNSW. Here she built on her design experience through roles as a project manager before becoming Manager of the Strategic Asset Planning Unit where she was responsible for asset planning for State Water’s water infrastructure assets through the delivery of the dam safety risk assessment. Robecca was able to build upon her asset management experience after joining Cardno’s Management Services Business Unit where she provided high-level technical advisory services as a Senior Consultant and continued to develop her interest in regulation and the law.
With a side interest in property and social justice issues Robecca returned to study law. Upon graduation she worked in the Contaminated Land Management section of the NSW Environmental Protection Agency prior to joining Shaw Reynolds Lawyers. Robecca now draws upon her background and engineering experience to compliment her work as a lawyer specialising in planning and environmental law.
Since joining Shaw Reynolds Lawyers Robecca has worked on a variety of matters involving both litigation and transactional work for private and local government clients. Her experience has focussed on planning, environment, and property law and she is a member of the Housing Industry Association’s Planning and Environment Committee. In this role Robecca is instrumental in development of Housing Industry Association’s policy positions, which provide an outlet for her contribution to policy development in New South Wales.
