Karen has over 15 years’ experience in planning and environment law having started her career at King & Wood Mallesons in 2005. Throughout her career, Karen has been engaged by prominent clients to advise on highly complex environmental matters. She has supported clients across a wide range of industries including real estate, projects, energy and resources, infrastructure, government, and financial institutions.

Karen has extensive experience in advising clients in relation the operation of various State and Federal environment/planning assessment and approvals processes, local government matters, environmental compliance issues, remediation of contaminated land, compulsory acquisition of land, and due diligence investigations. Karen has advised and appeared for clients in complex litigation, including several landmark decisions in the Land and Environment Court and the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal.

Since joining Shaw Reynolds Lawyers as a Senior Solicitor at the start of 2020, Karen has worked on a variety of matters for both private and local government clients involving planning, enforcement, local government, property, and compulsory acquisition matters.
