Chris Shaw - Principal
Chris is the Principal of Shaw Reynolds Lawyers. He is recognised as a leading expert in administrative, local government, planning and environmental law and is ranked as one of the leading Planning and Environmental Lawyers in New South Wales.
Chris advises local and state government bodies, corporations and individuals on their legal responsibilities with respect to property related issues. This includes issues that arise during the acquisition and assessment stage of projects through to the development approval, modification and construction stages. Chris regularly appears on behalf of clients in the NSW Land and Environment Court and the Supreme Court.
Chris has extensive experience acting for local government and state authorities in relation to the development of land. Chris has acted for local government and private developers in relation to residential development, housing for seniors and people with a disability, marina facilities, hospital facilities, multi-storey commercial buildings, upgrading of club’s and hotel refurbishment and new housing estates.
Chris acts as Chairperson for various Councils when Code of Conduct issues arise. He is a member of the NSW Land and Environment Court’s User Committee and is the chair of the Complaints Committee and the Judicial Tribunal for the Australian Property Institute.
In July 2015 Chris was appointed as Non-Executive Director of the NSW Crown Holiday Parks Trust by the NSW Minister for Lands and Water. He sits on the risk and audit committee on behalf of the Minister and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
